   Foolish  Anger

A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.  Proverbs 12:16

He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.  Proverbs 14:17

Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry:  for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.  Ecclesiastes 7: 9

Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go; lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.  Proverbs 22:24-25

Contrast with being 'slow to anger' which shows great understanding

He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly. Proverbs 14:29

He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city. Proverbs 16:32

The king's favor is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame. Proverbs 14:35

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.   James 1:19-20

Controlling our temper

A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife. Proverbs 15:18

A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. Proverbs 15:1

The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression. Proverbs 19:11

For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre. Titus 1:7

Living peaceably with others

If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Romans 12:18

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: and be ye kind one to another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Col. 3.13   Ephesians 4:31-32

Is Anger Evil?

Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. Psalms 37:8

Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath. Proverbs 21:24

Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy? Proverbs 27:4

An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression. Proverbs 29:22

But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Colossians 3:8

Be ye angry, and sin not: Ps. 4.4let not the sun go down upon your wrath:     neither give place to the devil.   Ephesians 4:26-27

Anger without cause breaks the sixth commandment

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; Ex. 20.13 · Deut. 5.17 and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: but I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.  Matthew 5:21-22
